Human Resource Specialist

Location: Eden Prairie, MN

CHF Solutions is an early stage company focused on commercializing the Aquadex FlexFlow® system. Our objective is to improve the quality of life for patients with heart failure and related conditions, such as fluid overload. We are seeking a Human Resource Specialist for our Eden Prairie, MN location.

The Human Resource Specialist handles and provides support for various HR systems, programs and processes within the organization. This position will support and maintain the human resource information system (HRIS), provide assistance for the human resource programs and department initiatives and provide some administrative support for the human resource department.


Human Resource Information System (HRIS):

  • Serves as lead resource for input and maintenance of system and point of contact for user set up and questions
  • Processes all employee changes within the system (i.e., hires, terms, benefits)
  • Assists in the review, set up, testing and implementation of current HRIS and Applicant Tracking System (ATS), as well as their future upgrades
  • Recommends process improvements, innovative solutions and policy changes related to the use or interface with the system
  • Develops and conducts in-house training sessions for users
  • Runs reports as requested
  • Creates and publishes Company HR internal homepage

Benefit Administration:

  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans
  • Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollments, cancellations or changes
  • Assists in the annual open enrollment process
  • Maintains HRIS with current benefit plan information
  • Processes employee leave of absence paperwork in coordination with applicable state law and supplemental employee benefit plans
  • Ensures compliance with COBRA guidelines by preparing letters and other paperwork as directed; receives and records COBRA insurance premium payments
  • Assists with distribution of annual employee notices as required and assisting with benefits reporting requirements
  • Perform payroll/benefits-related reconciliations
  • Answers employee questions

General Human Resources:

  • Assists with the recruitment process to include job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, performing reference checks, and maintaining records
  • Submits the online applicant background requests and assist with new employee background checks
  • Facilitates the new hire and termination processes
  • Updates and maintains job descriptions for all positions
  • Create and maintains employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements, including filing documents into appropriate employee files
  • Complete I-9 for new hires and maintains I-9 records
  • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Assists with or prepare correspondence, maintains company organization charts, creates reports and maintains spreadsheets relating to HR information
  • Schedule meetings, training, and interviews, etc. as needed
  • Assists in conducting audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action
  • Monitors and ensures compliance to Federal, State, and company policies
  • Maintains confidentiality on all matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Experience using ADP a plus
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work with multiple interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented collaborative team environment, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills
